About the Role

Accounting Manager (Client-Facing) Build and Elevate Our Accounting Function

Compensation: Starting at $95,000 with flexibility based on experience and scope

Location: Remote (U.S.) with preference for Pacific to Central time zones Hybrid option available for candidates local to Orange County, CA

This is not a traditional accounting manager role.

We’re looking for an Accounting Manager who genuinely enjoys working with clients, someone who is comfortable leading conversations, proactively reaching out, and building relationships.

In addition, you’ll oversee workflows, improve systems, and act as the bridge between our offshore team, U.S. team, and clients.

What Success Looks Like

  • You take ownership of accounting quality across all client engagements
  • You build strong, trust-based relationships with clients
  • You create clarity and coordination between offshore and U.S. teams
  • You proactively identify issues and implement better processes
  • You collaborate closely with our tax team to deliver integrated insights

Key Responsibilities

Review & Quality Control

  • Review monthly bookkeeping prepared by our offshore team in QuickBooks® Online (QBO)
  • Ensure financials are accurate, reconciliations are complete, and meet firm standards
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to both offshore and U.S. team members
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and standardize workflows

Workflow & Team Coordination

  • Manage accounting workflow and deadlines across multiple clients
  • Coordinate workload between offshore and onshore team members
  • Assist with onboarding new clients, including system setup and process implementation
  • Lead and support accounting clean-up projects

Client Advisory & Communication

  • Build relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent training, consulting, and expertise.
  • Lead client meetings over Zoom to present financials, explain analysis, and guide decision-making.
  • Collaborate with clients on cash flow, financial statements, and business insights.
  • Ensure a high-quality client experience with proactive communication and recommendations.

Requirements

  • 4–7+ years of experience in public accounting providing client accounting services (CAS)
  • Strong experience with QuickBooks® Online (QBO)
  • Experience reviewing bookkeeping and ensuring accuracy of financials
  • Experience working with multiple clients across different industries
  • Comfortable interacting with clients and presenting financial information
  • Experience mentoring or guiding team members (direct management not required)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Embraces technology and is comfortable adopting new tools to improve efficiency and client experience

Preferred (but not required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Experience working with offshore or remote teams
  • Experience with accounting clean-ups and process improvement
  • Familiarity with tools such as Double, Asana, Microsoft Office Suite, and Zoom

Schedule

  • Work week: Monday through Friday
  • Core collaboration hours: Monday- Thursday 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM PST
  • Flexibility outside of core hours
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak deadlines
